BYU vs BSU

11.05.2013

I know, I am a little behind. But life has thrown me a bajillion curve balls. So I didn't feel like actually typing a post with content until now. So... back to a few weeks ago. You might have seen this gem on my insta.

I was honored to be the event manager for the Boise State Football team at our hotel. I can tell you they stayed at the Provo Marriott now that the events over. It was way fun to work with an Idaho group. They were really laid back and easy to work with. Which I loved. They have what they call a "blue collar style". Super chill and no extra demands. Keep it simple. I got along really well with my contact, which is why I ended up with tickets and field passes. Adam and I were pumped because it was our first game of the year and my brother was pumped because that meant he could come to the game too.

See. My Dad had 4 box suite tickets that had been shared with him from BSU. Adam and I claimed them. Sorry, brothers. But then the day of the game I got handed tickets so I was able to get my brother and Noah into the game too. And once we got there. Turns out there were two more box passes so Sean and Noah could join us high in the sky for a Cougar win!

Okay. So this is my nephew Noah. He is hilarious. He kept saying, "I've never been in a box like this before." And he would shine that pumpkin flash light so the people on the other side of the field would know he is cheering for BSU. He also offers to open your soda pop can and really doesn't like getting his photo taken when he has lots of sugar.

My favorite part of my Dad's connections with the Idaho team is getting a picture taken with Adam in the box. The very first time my parents met Adam was when we got him up in the box during the Idaho game. And the tradition has lived on for 3 years... I really hope my Dad keeps good ties with these people.

It was so fun being back at BYU for Adam and I since we are both (well Adam is a semi-grad as he finishes up his online class for graduation, but since he isn't on campus he considers himself a grad) graduates now. Seeing old friends, singing the first song, and just thinking back on all the memories. And of course being there for a football game is always fun - the energy is like nothing else at LES. Have you been to any good games this year? What is your favorite part about visiting your Alma mater?

Who goes to Stockton?

5.21.2013

For the last three weeks my nights end with Adam looking up the West Coast Conference tournament standing and him naming off every scenario that needed to happen.... "If we win two game in each series and they sweep they will go, but if they only win five then we go..." or "if they win one, and the other team wins two, and we win 5 games then we will go." But go where? Go straight to the WCC Conference Tournament. This year marks the VERY first West Coast Conference baseball tournament and only the top 4 teams go. And guess what happened this weekend? BYU cinched the final spot! They did more than win the two games they needed. They SWEPT the series. They won the first two games, which made a real good situation for Adam. No pressure and just a nice day for him. And then Saturday Adam got his first win of the season. I am so proud of that husband of mine.
It was a great way to end the regular season and a perfect scenario for the final home series! So who is goes to Stockton? BYU Baseball. Oh. And this girl!! I am so excited to head down and watch my husband and his team kick some boootay - that are on a hot streak. And if they do well this weekend they could end up at regional. I am excited for the next few weeks of baseball!

Dear Homecoming,

10.10.2012

It is homecoming week at BYU! I love coming home. I love BYU. I love football. I love J Dawgs. And I LOVE being famous. You might wonder where those last two came from? Hot dogs and famous... interesting... Well let me tell you why.

My final year at BYU my bestie Michelle and I decided to be involved in all that we could. And go to a lot of activities. And we did everything together. So. Homecoming week. We went to the homecoming kick off and got free J Dawgs (yum.... J Dawgs) and took a picture with Cosmo!

But another thing happened while we were there. A man with a camera took our picture while we were in line. It was actually a man we knew from our time volunteering at BYUSA. And so he got a very candid laughing photo of us. And I will be honest, we were slightly embarrassed. But now... WE ARE FAMOUS! and we are eating hot dogs. Last year we were in the newspaper for homecoming week and this year we made it to the internets. When the first person told me I thought, no one really checks here. But since then I have been proven wrong.

So now everyone knows I eat J Dawgs. And they know I like to laugh, at least, that is something that could gather from the photo. I love being BYU famous. Because, really, what other famous would be better?!

Dear COUGAR Football,

8.30.2012

It is game day! And I am SO excited. I wasn't going to buy an All Sports Pass this year... Adam gets into all the game for free... darn  student athlete perks... and so we figured we could find one ticket if I ever wanted to go. But as the season got closer Adam and I got more excited. And honestly... I REALLY wanted season tickets to the game. And I asked Adam and he said, "Let's get you a pass! We don't want to be sad we missed a game... and I know we will be bummed we missed out on something like that." He is right. We love sports. And we love Cougars. So. Obviously we love Cougar Sports. Right? Right. So IT IS GAME DAY AND I AM GOING! And I am SO so so SOOOO excited. And in honor of the season opener I am including photos of me at football games every year. So you can see I am just not a bandwagon sports lover.
