Funday Monday

8.26.2013

I wish I had more to say.
This weekend was CA-RAZY!
Let me recap.
Friday was work. Dinner with the in-laws. Meeting my brother in law for the VERY first time after a year of marriage. Off to a Favorite Things party. Then a little girl time. Then home to sleep for three hours before Adam woke me up with a heart attack to say he was in Provo so I could pick him up.

Saturday. Slept in. Bigtime. Then my brother and his wife stopped by. After that Adam and I went to meet his family so he could see his brother for he first time in two years. Off to lunch. Then a drive to Fashion Place Mall so I could buy a gift for my father and a few of the favorite things from the night before... I am such a sucker. Then back to drop Adam off to pitch. Then dinner with my family. Then Adam's game! He pitched. And he did great! After the game we went to Applebees with the brothers and then to our house to hang out. They hung out. I went to sleep because my tummy hurt.

Sunday. Church. I taught a lesson. It was REALLY rough... I am learning though. Maybe young married ladies just don't like to answer questions? Or maybe I ask bad questions? Haha. Who knows. Then a baseball game. Then just a relaxing Sunday with Adam watching Miley get CRAY... literally... I couldn't like her performance. I couldn't even pretend to like it. Why did her toungue keep doing those weird things? Why did she keep using that finger to represent a male reproductive organ? Why did she think it was okay to wear two Scary Spice buns? Only Scary can pulls those off... But then it was all redeemed. Watching JT reunited with NSYNC! REUNITED! My loves. My life. Adam was so confused as to why I was so happy. And I just talked about it the rest of the night. I kept saying "I LOVE NYSNC!" Maybe I went a little overboard... but I couldn't help it. They were all there. All the boys. Right on stage. I die. I love. I wanted to fangirl cry. Just like every other girl my age.

Now here is Monday. Let's make it fun!

Dear Time Out,

12.04.2012

Remember a long time ago when I talked about Time Out for Women? Well... if you don't... Let me tell you what I said last time. "This wekend I am going to Time Out for Women with my Mom!" That was about it... and that was about... a month and a half ago. And when I was looking through my drafts I realized I never posted about it. Let me tell you, besides the fact that I got food poisoning, it was WONDERFUL!
The speakers were:
  • Virginia. She was all about forgiveness.
  • Sheri Dew. She talked about women in the Church and their importance.
  • Chris Williams. He talked about letting it go, joining the Savior in healing, and saving souls. His big question was, "What burden can you lay at Jesus' door?" Because if we do that, He will heal us. Find out what Chris let go and what burden he laid at Jesus' door here.
  • The Ladies from "Our Best Bites", Sara and Kate. They talked about looking for ways to serve and mother. And how life is more than being that picture perfect family.
  • Brad Wilcox. His talk was all about names. Our name and God's name. And knowing God's name when we take it. He talked about thinking of the Savior writing His name across out heart just as Michael Angelo wrote his name across the statue he carved.
  • Jon Bytheway. He said, "Regardless of your original intentions you will become what you surround yourself with." We need to surround ourselves with good things, good people, good music... just good in general. One thing he said that I loved was, "You are the average of the 5 people your surround yourself with."
  • Emily Freeman. Her whole talk was based on this quoted, "Trust god enough so that you can trust his timing for us." - Neal Maxwell
  • We also had wonderful musical performances from Jenny Oaks Baker, and she talked about the importance of family combined with Christ and the Gospel as well as not sweating the small stuff. And Mercy River, a group of three women. They talked about how Heavenly Father really loves it when we put our needs in His hand, letting him know He can calm us and looking to Him for hope.

This is my beautiful mother and I.

There wasn't much to take photos of. We honestly just sat and listened to wonderful speakers for two days straight. And this was the most scenery we got... besides the shopping at City Creek during lunch. I am so glad I got to spend those hours learning and growing with my Mother. She is beautiful and kind and such an inspiration to me.

Dear Weekend Plans,

12.01.2012

Happy weekend people! Adam and I have had fun so far by double dating and staying up way too late. Now he is off making some money and I am cleaning up the apartment. The whole time with this on replay! Here is your weekend tune.

We are still trying to figure out the rest of our weekend, what are you doing? Got any fun plans I could copy?

Dear Snow Fall,

11.10.2012

It is snowing like crazy over here... all weekend ideas of road trips and outdoor adventure just got squashed. And the football game tonight? BETTER BUNDLE UP! It is going to be fa-ree-zing! Here is your weekend tune. With some strong women singers... the video is cray.

Hopefully you don't get a foot of snow today... or hopefully we don't get another foot. Have a good one. Here is hoping for sunny weather!

Love,
Deidre

Dear Shark in the Water,

11.03.2012

Here is the weekend song for you. Thanks to The Voice I cannot get this song out of my head. And now it is on replay until another diddy replaces it. Got any suggestions?

Hope your weekend is going swimmingly!

Love,
Deidre
