Skillshare: School of Fashion

11.12.2013

Through competing in the pageants I was able to receive scholarship money to pay for schooling, but in addition to that I received a desire for knowledge. I am always looking for the next certification I can get, the next class I can go to, and so on. My friend Cassidy and I talk on a weekly basis about law school, graduate degrees, PMPs, and CMPs and whether or not all that additional school will be beneficial in the paths we are taking. All of this led me on a search to see what things were available. I found Skillshare at the perfect time.

Skillshare is a global community where you can learn real-world skills from incredible teachers. The classes are online, they never expire, and they fit into your schedule. Each class assigns you a "project", but you can work at your own pace and turn in the project in a timeline you decide. And best of all, you can showcase your skills with one of a kind projects and build the skills you want. They offer classes in a lot of subjects including Advertising, Business, Food & Drink, Photography.

As a *wannabe* Fashion Blogger I decided to look into the Fashion and Style classes. Something I am still trying to master is the fashion photography and posing for my photos. An outfit post isn't an outfit post unless I can really show you what I am wearing. So why is fashion photography so hard? Maybe I will have an answer for you once I finish my Capture the Look class! Adam is going to take it with me so we can really wow you with some fashion photog.

But why not try it out yourself!? Learn essential skills from industry leaders who are shaping the world of fashion today. Whether you are an aspiring apparel brand mogul or simply looking to write your first style blog post, the Skillshare School of Fashion and Style will provide you with the tools to make it happen. What class would you take? What are you dying to learn?
