The Marriage 15

9.20.2013

Everyone always talks about The Freshman 15... but does anyone ever talk about The Marriage 15?! No. Because no one truly believes in it or even knows it is a thing. But let me be the first to tell you, it is REAL people. You get comfortable, you make treats, you don't have to look pretty anymore because you already got your man, you stop going to the gym because hanging out at home is more fun, you don't go to dance parties... plus, if you get married after you graduate you don't have to walk back and forth on campus. You just sit at a desk and get fat. It also doesn't help if your work offers you delicious treats on a weekly basis.

Don't fall victim to The Marriage 15 like I did. Because I really did. Actually. More like The Marriage 20. What happens when a girl is only motivated to work out for swimsuit competition and then said pageant gets taken away? Weight gain. What happens when said girl meets the man of her dreams and would rather watch Pretty Little Liars than go to the gym, and she can because she don't gotta impress no one? Weight gain. What happens when you live in your own home with your own fancy wedding gift kitchen gadgets? Weight gain. Let me tell you... it is real. And now that I have realized it is real, I am doing something about it. And you can too!

So don't do it. Don't fall victim to any sort of 15. The Freshman 15. The Marriage 15. The Full Time Job 15... don't do it. Just remember this info-graphic and hit the gym. You can thank me later.

Ugh. I've gained 8 pounds since we got married. I had to go upon jean size. It's so depressing!!!! Too bad I have NO motivation to exercise lol

I like that picture. A ton. I'm super glad that I caught myself before it was too late. haha. I definitely believe in the Marriage 15. But for my case, it may be the Marriage 90. K maybe not quite 90. But you catching my drift here?

GURLLL you best believe that i believe in this. i actually think that like every large change makes girls gain weight.
college, marriage, full-time job, baby.
i think i might be up 10+ pounds from my wedding.
i don't like going to the gym and i can't afford to go to the gym so i'm trying to find the best home work outs.
are there any home work outs that you enjoy?

What do you get when you combine the Freshman, Marriage and Full Time job 15 together?! The Crazy Life 45!!!! Yep.... that's my whopping total over the last three years. Started back to school (let's not talk about the fact that I'd already done the Freshman 15 once in cosmetology school, you'd think I'd learn my lesson) then met Joe, got mono (so no more running for me), started a full time job and got married all within a years time.... so um yeah.... my Crazy Life 45 has finally happened. But don't worry, I have plans to kick that bad boy out the door! .....ok, I'll stop being witty now....

If anyone chooses to go to the gym over watching Pretty Little Liars well, I have to question their judgement! ;)

Maybe I'm not getting married because I can't afford the marriage 15 or any other 15 for that matter. Let's hit the gym!

this is so funny. and true. my husband was just saying today something about not having to shave anymore cuz he doesn't have to try anymore. I gave him an 'excuse me?' look, and he just responded "what? you're pregnant with my child. you're not going anywhere." although that's not exactly the point, it was pretty funny haha :)
