2012 || A Year In Review

I know a lot of you are new here.
I know a lot of you probably wonder what the heck do these people blog about.
I know a lot of you are probably like "These people are so silly, what posts should I read?! There are way too many good ones!"

Whether you thought one of the previous statements above or are D. None of the above or E. All of the Above we thought we would help you out. Here are our top posts from 2012 first in a list and then one from each month. Enjoy.

January: This is the month where I decided to start blogging. That is right it has almost been a WHOLE year. And at first Deidre was going solo. A lot of posts with no substance. Whatsoever. Just jokes. But my post on Virtue definitely started me into a good year. To prepare me for Miss Idaho, for assemblies, for marriage, and to be an example.

February: In February baseball season started. Which meant Adam was gone a ton. So I went to Idaho a few times to do assemblies for my Miss Idaho platform S.T.A.M.P. Out Bullying.

March: A lot more of baseball and pageanty. A trip to Portland to see my brother and go to some of Adam's games. Miss Idaho orientation and the Miss Idaho Outstanding Teen pageant. And of course, the ever popular Mustache March and March Madness.

April: A few more baseball games. A few more trips to Idaho to prepare for the pageant. And a change to win the lottery.... pretty much sums up April.

May: There was a lot going on this month. Lots of Miss Idaho preparations form walking to talent to raising money. ENGAGED [you can find the link below]! I got engaged. And that was the best moment of this month. And from here until wedding month. My time is pretty spent in wedding mode, pageantry, and work.

June: Miss Idaho and wedding planning. We also took our engagements and ordered out invitations.

July: I crowned the new Miss Magic Valley, had a bridal shower, and MORE wedding planning.

August: Marriage. Honeymoon. Nothing can top that. Moved into our first apartment.

September: Lots of football games. Which meant opportunities to eat cougar tails.

October: A very special birthday and birthday redo from my handsome husband. Halloween. Which means costumes.

November: Laid off from work. Found a new job. And Thanksgiving in Idaho!

December: A trip to California to spend our very first Christmas together. But not before opening some gifts here!

And then a few more for good measure!

The Obvious:
Our blog really picked up a ton as we were planning our wedding and getting married. So it didn't suprise us that some of our most popular 2012 posts had to do with just that. Marriage. Also... we wrote mostly about marriage and love and all that for a solid 4-5 months... so that made it obvious.

Dear Monday,

People. It is Monday. Everyone's favorite dreaded day. Back to work. No more sleeping in. Get to work. You have a test. Clean your room. You name it. Today says it... but ya know what? Mondays have a bad rep. For no reason. It isn't Monday's fault that it got put RIGHT after Sunday. So to make your Monday better. I give you the following photos.....

Dear Insomnia,

You know those days when you can't sleep? Well normally I remedy that with a show and I am sleeping in a few minutes. Now I am married so I have to be quiet quiet like a mouse since Adam has weights at 7:30 AM... so what do I do? Make a Facebook album with about one tenth of our wedding photos and write a blog post.

A fashion blog post to be exact... I bought that sweater because I felt like I should be in a posh ski lodge... Sleep come soon please?!

Dear Netflix,

I have been trying to think of something to blog about... like... REALLY hard I have been thinking. Everyone else blogged about their awesome Labor Day weekend. But I didn't really do anything. So this would have been my post... "Went to bed at 7 PM on Friday... seriously, what is wrong with me!? Slept basically all day Saturday and then went on a fun double date. Went to church and slept and watched Friday Night Lights Sunday. Made Adam breakfast, had Texas Roadhouse pickup for lunch, and then watched Gossip Girl ALL day while Adam did homework Monday." I have been sleepy. So I sleep a lot. Also... I guess I did make it so our kitchen was finally usable, more on that later...

So I guess the one thing that seemed to be a theme from my weekend that I can tell you about it Netflix Instant Play. And how I have been officially sucked into not one but TWO TV series.

One I watch with Adam and one I watch without Adam. Netflix has seriously put a damper on my activity. I keep thinking of things I can do like empty a box or do the dishes (I did do the dishes twice this weekend, our kitchen is really clean right now) but I always have to wait for ONE more episode. Netflix... Netflix... Netflix.... And I don't completely blame myself or Netflix for these current obsessions. I blame everyone who recommended the shows to me. I would name names, but there are seriously too many names to name! And it doesn't just stop with these series. There are like 10 others I have been told to watch. And I am sure I will once I finish my current ones. So thank you to everyone for the ideas, because I love them and I cannot stop, but no thank you at the same time... because I love them and I CANNOT STOP!

Don't pretend like you haven't watched Friday Night Lights. Because I swear every person I have talked to has. And how could you not watch it? The sports, the drama, the high school kids that look like they are in college, and no parents around to really monitor anything? It surely is the life and the dream. And in Texas. Football is king. This is the show I watch with Adam. He was watching a real football game and couldn't help but get sucked into the fake football game on my little Mac book. And now I am not allowed to watch an episode without him.

Alright. Show #2. So once Adam got sucked into Friday Night Lights... I couldn't just watch it while he was doing homework. That would be rude. So I had to think. What other shows have people told me I would love? A ton came to mind. Second question. What shows have I been told I would love that I know Adam would not love? Gossip Girl. Top on the list. And perfect because it is all on Netflix. And once I started watching it all I could say was... how the heck did I miss this little CW gem through all my time spent watching 90210 and One Tree Hill? Gossip Girl is right up my lane. Drama. Lots of drama. And people that wear shoes that are more expensive than EVERYTHING in my closet. It is seriously perfect. 

So there you have it. I am addicted. Luckily I watch it all on my computer so I have started just carrying my laptop from room to room while I work. It makes time go by much faster. What shows are you addicted to? Got any more recommendations for me?

Dear Harry Potter,

His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad, his hair is as dark as a blackboard...

YER A WIZERD HARRY! Oh that sentence that will change all of our lives FOREVER. Remember those words? Remember the moment you started reading Harry Potter? Those books will never get old. I will always remember reading them time and time. Dressing up to go to midnight premieres. And feeling like my childhood officially ended when the final movie came out.

And for some reason when it is Harry's birthday I feel like it is my BFF's birthday. And I must celebrate with butterbeer and a movie marathon. Happy birthday old chap.
