You Know Why

Dear Monday,

12.10.2012

Don't let the Mondays get you down. Get the giggles.

I wish I had a best friend right next to me in the yearbook so we could have pulled something like that. Also. As always, Harry Potter for the win. Enjoy your Monday, whether it be work, school, finals, or laundry!

Dear No-Reply Comment Blogger,

11.09.2012

There are a few things I hate when I blog... The captcha, which you should all remove because sometimes those TINY numbers are impossible to read. Especially when they are super blurry.

And second is noreply-comment@blogger.com. I really want to answer your emails. But.... I cant. Because you have made yourself basically blogger invisible. So here I am today. To TEACH you how to fix that! If you have recently changed over to Google+ chances are you are now a noreply-comment blogger, even if you weren't before. Imagine my surprise when people that had been replying to my comments for months messaged me and said "You are a noreply blogger..." I was sad for them. And for me. Because all that means is I have become that person that I never wanted to be! So here we go with the tutorial. It is rather simple. Let's do this.

Step 1
Click the sprocket, then in the drop down menu click "Revert to Blogger profile".

Step 2
Click the scary orange "Switch to a limited Blogger profile". You don't have to stay a limited blogger for long... so it isn't as scary as they are making it seem.

Step 3
Click the orange "Continue to Blogger" button. This will bring you back to your homepage.

Step 4
In the top right corner click on your photo (or the silhoutte if your blogger profile is photoless) and then click the "blogger profile" link.

Step 5
Click the orange "Edit Profile" button.

Step 6
Make sure the box next to "Show my email address" is checked. Go save. Return to your blogger dashboard. Click on the sprocket that started it all. And click "Connect to Google+".. it will take you through a few steps to get you back to your Google+ account.

If you want to test your noreply-comment blogger status, leave a comment on this post and I will let you know! Also. Don't forget to enter the Stella & Dot Giveaway!

Dear Shark Week,

8.14.2012

It is my favorite week. Of forever. First reason? I am getting married in just TWO days! Count them, one, two. What the heck?! How did this sneak up so fast. I know... you want the interesting facts about two, right?

  • The first magic number.
  • In AstrologyTaurus is the second sign of the Zodiac.
  • In Finland, two candles are lit on Independence Day
  • Putting them on the windowsill invokes the symbolical meaning of division, and thus independence.
  • In Jewish law, the testimony of two witnesses are required to verify and validate events, such as marriage, divorce, and a crime that warrants capital punishment
  • binary star is a stellar system consisting of two stars orbiting around their center of mass.

And now onto my SECOND favorite reason for this week....

That is right ladies and gentleman. It is shark week. Why does that fascinate me? I don't know. But I love it. Last year I watched a documentary on Black December and I will forever be hooked on shark week. It is slightly terrifying and super interesting. If shark week plays anything on Black December this year, watch it. It is NUTS. So now, I am a shark week lover.

Wedding. Shark week. Best week ever. Two days.

Dear Harry Potter,

7.31.2012

His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad, his hair is as dark as a blackboard...

YER A WIZERD HARRY! Oh that sentence that will change all of our lives FOREVER. Remember those words? Remember the moment you started reading Harry Potter? Those books will never get old. I will always remember reading them time and time. Dressing up to go to midnight premieres. And feeling like my childhood officially ended when the final movie came out.

And for some reason when it is Harry's birthday I feel like it is my BFF's birthday. And I must celebrate with butterbeer and a movie marathon. Happy birthday old chap.

Dear Mustache March,

3.31.2012

First of all, did you know there are rules for Mustache March? And do you know what started this whole trend? The idea stems from an early Air Force tradition in which members of the U.S. Air Force would grow mustaches in goodhearted protest against facial hair regulations during the month of March.

Well there you have it people. Mustache March brought us many giggles, some well groomed staches, and some questionable hairy upper lips this season. And now, I bid thee farewell... I know all the men are sad to see you go and all the women are packing your bags and pushing you out the front door. Either way, it was nice to have you around for a month.  Good bye to all those baby mustaches until next year (or in some cases until November when men find another reason to grow a caterpillar)... Thank you for the fun, and I will see you soon! For your viewing pleasure, here are a few gems from this year's festivities.

Oh... and don't forget about the men from my work that made a calender featuring all the lovelies with facial hair. The bearded men of ONO. Here are two of my favorite pictures from the bunch. Want a calender? They are only $15. Let me know, and we can make it happen.

Now go shave those things off. You are scaring the children.

Dear Under Construction,

3.28.2012

Everyone. It is happening again! I know, seems like it just happened, right? Don't mind the constant blog changes over the next few days. Okay? Oh and if you have any suggestions... pass them to me, I can't make up my mind... obviously.

Dear Airport Security,

3.22.2012

This morning I headed out to Portland to watch a little BYU Baseball and visit my brother Eric. I am excited to be up here and see what Oregon has to offer. I miss seeing my brother, especially since I used to spend a lot of time with him when he lived only one hour away. This will be my first time visiting him since he moved up here a year and a half ago. He is attending law school. A good guy. It will also be fun to see Adam pitch for the first time in a real game!

But the real reason for this post. I need you all to know how thorough Salt Lake City Airport is on their security. Today I took off my boots, jacket, and sweater and put my electronics and liquids into a separate bin to be scanned. I stepped through a full body scanner that is like an x ray machine. That seems like a pretty clear inspection, right? Right. So I thought I was done. But then the gentleman asked me to stand on this yellow mark and wait for a second. I assumed they were going to double check my bag (its happened before) but then a woman walked up and said, "I need to check your hair.." I looked at her for a second and laughed, she was joking, right? And then she said, "If you just want to turn I can check your ponytail." Okay, she wasn't joking. She gave my pony tail a pat down! My hair is fairly thin, and wasn't even that poofy today, but she gave it a pat down for a second and then said, "Okay! Looks like you are good. I didn't find a switch blade!" So I turned around and said, "Good, I was worried someone hid one in there while I was waiting in line!" Then I turned back around put on my jacket, scarf, and boots, grabbed my liquids and put them back in my suitcase, and packed my computer back in the case and slid it into my carry on.

The exact pony tail I have been sporting since 5:30 AM today... looks dangerous, right?

Did that really just happen? Oh yeah... it did.

Dear March Madness,

3.14.2012

Alright. The madness has begun.... I just finished a few of my brackets. Does your bracket need a little loving? Do you struggle with what teams to pick because you can't remember their stats, mascot, or who has the coolest jerseys? Well... Here is a quick and easy fix to get your bracket going. Super easy to give you a fast template, then change your teams as needed before you submit...

Go to PickMyBracket.com and then you can pick the stat you think most important and the random factor you think most important... and TA DA! Bracket completed.

Did you know BYU is ranked number 2 for "Coed Hotness"?

I have my final 4 as.... Duke, Missouri, Kansas, and Syracuse... Duke and Syracuse going to the finals with Duke taking it all.

Obviously I am super proud of my Cougars... 25 point deficit to a win! That is what I call MADNESS.

Deidre

Dear Mustache March,

3.02.2012

Mustache March... I welcome you. With open arms. Not because I love you, but because I must. There is no way around it. Mustache March is a way of life. So to all you females out there that struggle with kissing a mustached man... deal with it. You cannot escape. No one can. And maybe look for a man that can grow the manliest of man mustaches. Cherish that. Men... grow one if you can because you can never grow one any other month and have it be socially accepted without people thinking you are some sort of creep. The following men are not creeps, they are classy... for your viewing pleasure.

I mustache you a question...
but I will shave it for later!

I would love to stay but I really mustache.... must dash.

Love,
Deidre

Dear Happy Helpers,

2.29.2012

Do you want to help me with Miss Idaho without having to spend a dollar?
Alright... if you are a male... this post will do nothing for you... so you can read it or just pass it by.

If you are a female and 14 or older with a facebook... Help a sister out! I am getting ready to compete at Miss Idaho. And I am hoping to get a brand new gown for my final year competing. But those gowns are darn expensive... and I am definitely on a budget! Well a local gown shop is holding an contest and a great opportunity for dress buyers. But I will need your help!

Go to Venue Pageant and Prom's on Facebook. "Like" their page. Then make sure you post on the wall that Deidre Edmunds sent you! I would really really REALLY appreciate your help. Feel free to share this with your friends as well so I can get as many votes as possible. Thank you so much for all the support as always!

Dear Temple Run,

2.09.2012

So Sunday I went to a Super Bowl party with Adam and the baseball team. One of Adam's teammate's girlfriend ( a mouth-ful to say that, right?) is my friend Gloria. Gloria decided to tell me about this game she has on her phone that she loves. I believe her words were, "You don't have Temple Run?! You need to get it. Like now." So I did what she said. I downloaded Temple Run right then... she is right. I needed it. And now I wish I would have never had it. I need to delete it but it is soooo addicting and I love it. So here is to you Gloria for introducing me to a game that will consume all my spare time until something more enticing comes along.

At least my scores are getting better, right?

Dear Winning,

2.06.2012

It appears I have been doing a lot of that lately. Winning. I don't know where this lucky streak came from, but I will take it!

It all started with the Name Plate Contest.

And then Phase 10.

Then it was Trivia Tuesday.

After that the Karaoke Contest... sorry no photo, but I sang Spice Girls. Which I am sure you can imagine was EPIC.
And to top it all off Adam and I handed Bret and Jen their first 4 Card Game Loss.

Feels good to be a winner. Lets make it a trend, okay?

Dear World,

1.27.2012

I mean.... I know people are reading these because I get view counts. But at the same time I secretly wonder if blogger is lying to me because no one ever comments. So are you there? Or am I just being funny for no reason?

Dear Walkers,

12.20.2011

A long time ago I wrote some campus rules for college... since graduating I have realized that rule #4 extends far beyond a campus. It extends to any sidewalk or aisle in the whole world. Especially if it is holiday shopping or a regular day at Costco... let's revisit that rule (anything campus has been removed because as I said.. it applies to everything), shall we?

Rule #4 - Walking, merging, and stopping. Let us talk about sidewalk etiquette. I am just going to go through a few key rules within this rule"
1. If you are going to chat with a friend, do not stop in the middle of a hall or sidewalk, kindly move to the side.
2. If you are going to merge in front of someone, do not slow down, stay at the same pace because it will cause a collision otherwise.
3. If you want to text, please do not text and walk at the same time unless you can clearly see you will not hit a single person.
4. Stay with the flow of traffic, do not walk extremely slow.
5. Do not cut someone off and then stop walking to talk.
6. When you are walking straight at somebody and one of you needs to move just pick a side and commit, you'll run into somebody half the time but they'll be the one feeling guilty for not picking the right way to go.

In addition....

7. Do not walk at a diagonal, and if you choose to please watch for oncoming traffic.

Love,
Deidre

Dear Fail,
