Spring

April Showers to May Flowers. Finally.

5.29.2013

I had plans to post this a long time ago. But then it rained. And rained. And rained. Then I went on a trip... And finally I am back home and I think the rain (and snow) has stopped! The best part of Spring? Flowers. Everything is in bloom. So today I have invited all my sponsors to tell me their favorite flowers are now! My favorites are tulips and sunflowers... but really just any flowers are beautiful and I love getting them (hint, hint to Skinny...)

My favorite flowers are peonies!  That is what my wedding bouquet was made of :)

It is almost impossible for me to pick just one flower! I truly love any and all flowers!
Some of my favorites would be peonies, Gerber daisies, sunflowers,
wildflowers, roses, and calla lilies.

My favorite May flowers are pink and purple calla lilies.

My favorite May flowers are def all the fun tulips popping up everywhere.
They just put a huge smile on my face.

I have always been in love with tulips - just recently, though,
dahlias have been catching my eye.
But, you know what? Between you and me? {smile}
I love any flowers really - especially "just because" flowers!

Okay, I cannot explain to you how much I love flowers.
My personal favorite are daisies. But just recently I went to San Diego and
took pictures of all the beautiful flowers. The sun was shining, and sky was
blue and the flowers were all blooming!

Tulips have always been a favorite because they're beautiful and
so much like humans, rising and sleeping with the sun, like we do.
Although since I became a mother last May,
my Chelsea has become my favorite May flower.

My favorite May flowers would have to be daffodils and tulips
because when they bloom, I know that summer is
coming and the cold is finally over!

My favorite May flowers would have to be peonies.
I desperately wanted them in my wedding but alas, I got married in
November and they were out of season. So pretty!

I'm most excited to get rid of all this boring
white snow and to have a colorful world again. Spring,
I welcome you with open arms and minor fist pumping.

Now that April Showers are slowing down
I love the daises and roses that are everywhere.
I just can't get enough of them!

So there you have it! Tulips, daisies, calla lilies, sunflowers, and peonies to name a few. All of us are looking forward to warmer weather and flowers coming up on every street corner... or hoping to see them in (once again... hint, hint to my sweet husband) our kitchen! What are your favorite spring flowers? What do you love to see growing?

Spring Has Sprung

5.14.2013

Alright party people. It is for real for real Spring over here.... which is a big deal considering it snowed the first week of May! But last weekend at the baseball game everyone got sunburned. Which means the snow is away and the sun will play. Adam and I have exactly THREE weeks until he potentially disappears for the rest of the warmth - so we are starting our warm weather wish list.
Last spring was spent planning our wedding, taking trips to Idaho and California ( California just for Adam - he without me... that was sad), watching baseball, competing at Miss Idaho... and just staying busy in general. So this year we are going to enjoy it with just baseball and work on our plates. Want to know what some of my blog friends are looking forward to this spring?

AB Petite
This spring {next week in fact} we are going to Florida! We as in my husband Dylan, KJ my son, my momma, our friends and their little one. We are going to Disney World, Island of Adventure, the beach, and gonna do some relaxing at the pool. So excited for THIS spring!

Reupena Household

My favorite spring activity: Taking my kids to the park to enjoy the warm sun!

Caravan Sonnet
My favorite springtime activity is the opportunity to enjoy the warm and beautiful weather outside! I love spending time with family and friends hanging out, talking, laughing, or curling up with a good book in the sun! {Sometimes, as the picture shows, I also like to goof around with old cheerleading jumps! hehehe}

So what are you looking forward to now that the warm weather is rolling in for good? I cant wait for more baseball sun - with loads of sunscreen - and enough snow cones to put me into a hydrated sugar coma. Send me some warm weather ideas. Can't wait to hear from you!

One More Chance, Boots

4.24.2013

This weekend was one of the good ones. Minus, of course, the windy weather and temperature drop. It was the first weekend since February that I had Adam all to myself. So we spend Friday night just relaxing and watching shows. Adam made dinner, we had Shirleys, and we just enjoyed each others company without school or baseball. I even got to come home from work a little early since I was going back Saturday morning to run through a few of the events for that day. Saturday Adam and I went on a little staycation to SLC, but more on that later. I am excited to tell you all about it, but it has earned it's own post! The colder weather wasn't all bad. At least I got a chance to pull my boots out one more time.
Boots: Payless || Leggings: Target || Top: Old Navy || Sweater: Target

A simple outfit for a simply windy day. And even with the cold making one more appearance, hopefully it's last, you can see the beautiful spring blossoms coming in! Flowers are showing their true colors, the blossoms are finally opening up, and the green is starting to pick through all the winter greys. The boots were great for one last go, but I am looking forward to sunshine and watching a baseball game without a blanket!

Winning Pitcher!

3.11.2013

This weekend was really great because I got to spend it watching baseball. Not just any baseball. But Adam playing baseball. Which I love. And the weather was nice. And Adam got a "magic shot" to keep him at 100% for four hours, two of which fell during game time. And Adam got his first win of the season. Wanna see a little of Adam being interviewed for the radio and television? I thought so. (Watch for the double play (1-2-3) from from Adam to home base to first to get him out of the inning that could have destroyed their lead. Adam is really proud of it!)

And then here we are after this big win and interview.

It was such a great way to start off at home. I would go into a lot of statistic jargon right now, but I feel like you would be bored. So I will pass on that. The Cougars have now beat two ranked teams. We are hoping it becomes a habit. What did you do with your warm weathered weekend? What outdoor sports are you looking forward to this Spring?

Love,
Deidre
