In 2010 a study was released saying your life span may be reflected by the amount you smile. The LA Times reports, "People who smile a lot are usually happier, have more stable personalities, more stable marriages, better cognitive skills and better interpersonal skills, according to research. Science has just uncovered another benefit of a happy face. People who have big smiles live longer." But beyond how a smile can effect me personally, I love to see how it can create a chain reaction. When you smile at someone, they will smile back. A simple act of smiling service can change someone's day. And the best part of a smile? Everyone smiles in the same language. Which brings me to my new series.
The Smile Chronicles will be posted every Friday. The goal is to show a diverse group of people over time being happy in their lives. A diverse group in a variety of locations and situations. Smiling is contagious, so let's spread it around! “Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.” - Mother Teresa.
Want to be a part of The Smile Chronicles? Print your own poster, take a photo with it, and send it to lovetheskinnys@gmail.com with your name and a description of the photo. Go ahead and get creative with your photo. Only rule? Whoever is in the photo is holding the sign and SMILING!
Can't wait to see your smiles.
